AI Recycling Sorter

8.3 trillion kilograms of plastic waste has been produced. That weight is heavier than 3 billion elephants and only 9% of that plastic was recycled, 12% was incinerated and 79% ended up in the trash, landfills and oceans! Plastic takes 400 years to degrade so all the plastic we’ve produced is still here unless we’ve incinerated it.

Benefits of recycling

So why even recycle? First of all, it reduces the amount of waste in landfills, oceans, sent in incinerators and any other waste in other places. Secondly, recycling conserves the earth’s finite resources. Recycling reduces pollution by minimizing the need to collect and make new materials, helps conserve the ecosystems and wildlife, saves energy, creates recycling jobs, slows down climate change by reducing greenhouse gasses and is cheaper than disposing of plastic then making new plastic.

Benefits of our recycling sorter?

Our recycling sorter can make it easy, inexpensive and fast to sort the 3.5 billion kilograms of trash and recycling produced daily. Our recycling sorter will make it less expensive and more feasible to sort all that trash and recycling. This will also make it so less recycling is put in landfills, oceans, other places and is actually recycled.

How to implement it?

The recycling sorter would most likely be installed into existing sorting facilities. It could be installed by next year if the recycling centers commit to installing it and less than the average salary of a recycling sorter.
